The boys of the Lucky Moon series live in a world that most of us never see … fame. And big fame at that. These guys are rock stars and that kind of life comes with some things we don’t see in our every day lives. At least not in the same way!
When fame and fortune are on the line people can do things they deeply regret. And the people they hurt want to take it out on them in a big way! I’m sure we’ve all entertained thoughts of revenge but how many of us can say that we’ve married out the plot?
Life is different when you have cameras watching your every move. The fame gets to all our main characters in different ways. One of them never felt attractive enough, so he altered nearly everything about his face. Sounds pretty familiar in a world of celebs where pretty much all of them have had a nip and a tuck here and there.
Rehab seems to go with Rocker…sadly. And just like in real life, they did go together for our troubled younger brother Nick. It seems like there are rock stars who bounce in and out but for him, it ended up being the best possible place for him. And it changed his life for the better.
In fame it’s not worth doing something if the world isn’t watching you, right? Our rockstars know the virtue of a good publicity stunt, something to get everyone talking and get their names in the headlines – fake celebrity girlfriend, outrageous quote, crazy party with all the right cameras. Sometimes, though…those can go too far. That’s when people get hurt.
It’s hard to tell who your friends are when you’re on the top, or at least when you can supply the best booze and drugs and fancy cars. Nick for sure learns the hard way that everyone wants you when you’re the life of the party…not so much when you aren’t.
Even with all the artifices and excess our characters were used to living with, they did manage to find love… and sometimes in the most unlikely of places. Love between siblings, love between true friends, and love of a partner. It’s one of the things that helped them survive.
Piper and I loved creating this world of rockstars and parties, showing both the good side and the darker one. It was great to revisit them in these second editions, add scenes, rewrite parts, get to know characters that we hadn’t spent time with in a couple of years. We’re always around online if you have questions or comments about any of them!
Moonstruck is the last of the Lucky Moon books about two bands from opposite sides of the pond who blend together professionally and in love (and lots of bumps in the road along the way of course). You can read more about it at Dreamspinner Press!

Piper Vaughn wrote her first love story at eleven and never looked back. Since then, she’s known that writing in some form was exactly what she wanted to do. A reader at the core, Piper loves nothing more than getting lost in a great book—fantasy, young adult, romance, she loves them all (and has a two-thousand-book library to prove it!). She grew up in Chicago, in an ethnically diverse neighborhood, and loves to put faces and characters of every ethnicity in her stories, so her fictional worlds are as colorful as the real one. Above all, she believes that everyone needs a little true love in their life…even if it’s only in a book.
