Hey everyone! I’m M. A. Church, and I’m here to talk about my latest release, Dragon’s Hoard from the Dreamspun Beyond line at Dreamspinner Press. I’ve wanted to do a dragon story for a long time but never seemed to be able to find the time. And oh my God, the mythology is endless fascinating and very prevalent in many cultures. So, off to research I went!. Amazingly, I found a lot of information. An idea began to form of an old dragon who was a bit stuffy but also well adapted to the world he now lives in. I also wanted to incorporate a shifter element, and it didn’t take long for my Omega wolf to take shape. But Avery isn’t just any Omega wolf. Oh no, lol. He’s sassy, determined, and there isn’t a weak-willed bone in his body. Both characters were a lot of fun to write.

Blurb: To be loved by a dragon is to be treasured. A hundred years ago, werewolf Alpha Montgomery took a risk driven by desperation—he borrowed money from the ancient dragon Warwick Ehecatl, putting up the pack lands as collateral. Now the debt is due, and dragons don’t forget— Or forgive. Warwick demands Montgomery’s son, Avery, and three businesses as compensation. As an Omega, Avery knows he is basically useless to his pack, so he might as well agree. He soon has second thoughts, though. Warwick is fearsome, and he’s free to do as he likes with Avery. Warwick knows his race’s reputation, and he even admits some of it is deserved. But he’d rather cut off his tail than let his innocent mate’s light go out. It won’t be easy, but buried deep, there’s something between them worth safeguarding.

Excerpt:
Warwick waited until the Alpha was seated, then steepled his fingers underneath his chin. He stared at the Alpha until he squirmed uncomfortably in his chair. “Let’s cut to the chase. By midnight tonight your time is up, and you don’t have the money.” “No. I don’t.” Warwick shook his head sadly. “It never ceases to amaze me how someone who obviously has a head for business can allow himself to get in such a predicament. But that’s not my problem. You owe me an enormous sum of money, which you are unable to pay. According to the papers you signed, I would be well within my right to take everything you have and cast your pack out.” “But—” “But I’m not going to.” Alpha Montgomery’s mouth dropped open. “Y-you’re not?” “No, I’m not.” Warwick did enjoy the look on the Alpha’s face. Surely he didn’t think it was going to be that simple? He smiled, and it certainly wasn’t pleasant. “You offered to do anything, remember?” “Yes, I did. Whatever you want.” Alpha Montgomery spoke quickly, obviously warming up to the subject. “I, um, I understand you’re not mated. My youngest daughter isn’t mated either, and—” “I have no interest in females.” “Oh.” Alpha Montgomery deflated. “Then I’m not too sure…. What could you possibly want, then?” “Your son, the Omega. Avery, I believe his name is. You will give him to me, along with—” Warwick glanced at Clarence. Clarence cleared his throat and rattled off the names of the businesses of Alpha Montgomery’s. “Along with those three.” “What?” Alpha Montgomery bellowed. Warwick wasn’t sure which offended the Alpha more—the fact that he wanted his son or three of his businesses.
