Meet the Beteferoce brothers: five dragon shifters, each with a strong elemental power. And each with a fierce desire to find his soul mate…

He said he was flying on a silver dragon. He called me “Markus-meine.” Who would know all that? Who? And how?

SWAT cop and dragon shifter Mark Beteferoce had—and lost—a soul mate. He’s finally at the point where he can get through the days without thinking about what used to be…until he tastes Quincy O’Brien’s doughnuts and takes him home to play.

Quincy O’Brien is a gifted baker, but at night he dreams of soaring through the sky on dragonback and being topped by the perfect Dom. Mark satisfies the kinky urges Quincy has only explored in his subconscious, pushing his limits and caring for him afterward.

From the start, their connection was more than sexual. It’s known; it’s familiar somehow. And it’s slowly driving Mark insane. What shouldn’t be possible most certainly is, and the bond between himself and Quincy runs deeper than either of them could ever have realized.

Review

Mark once had a soulmate, but he was tragically taken from him. Since than he has hidden all his feelings and wants away never thinking that he would ever find love again. When Mark takes a chance and decides to try to have some enjoyment in his life again he finds Quincy. The two seem to be made for each other but after a wonderful night Mark hears words from his past come from Quincy. Mark is unsure of what this could mean but soon he must decide if he is truly blessed again with a rebirth of his soulmate and take a chance on love again or let Quincy and his second chance slip from his grasp.
I loved watching Quincy and Mark’s story unfold. The two men make a great couple. Both men have strong personalities and together they shine. It was nice to see the attraction that they share turn into something much deeper. Mark has lived in pain for so long and with Quincy he is given a second chance, but it is up to him to take it. I enjoyed the relationship and the banter between the two men. Mark is a good man and it was nice to see the different facets of his personality come out with Quincy.
Their story is heavy on the sex, but it is what brings these two together from the start and it is what centers and completes this pair. They are at the beginning of their relationship and it is something that is more than just fun and satisfying. It is a deeper level of connection for the men.
It was also nice to see the scenes with the three brothers and their soulmates enjoying themselves together, the strong connections both physical and mental was easy to see and the camaraderie was nice. All were ready to welcome Quincy and make him feel like family.
This is a sexy fast paced story that grabbed me right from the start and did not let go until the very end. The author has built a wonderous world around these dragons and I am excited to see what comes next in their world.

Life is perfect for Richard and Dean. Richard is a wealthy and successful businessman who also owns a BDSM club, and Dean is a best-selling author and sub to Richard. They’re young, happy, and in love. The future is bright….
Until tragedy strikes and an accident claims Dean’s beloved sister. Dean finds himself the guardian of a three-month-old infant, and soon he’s trading in his leather fetish gear for diapers and drool bibs. But little Emily is all that remains of his family, so how can he abandon her?
It’s not what Richard signed up for. As much as he tries to be supportive, he never wanted kids and misses having his partner to himself. Suddenly the life he imagined for them is gone, and he’s not sure their relationship can survive the upheaval. But fate isn’t through with Dean, and when misfortune strikes again, will he be able to turn to the man he loves? A final crisis will determine if they can pull together as a family or must face facts and part ways.

Review

This was a new author and narrator for me. I really enjoyed the story for the most part and eventually the narrator grew on me. Richard is the typical billionaire Dom we see in a lot of novels. He’s arrogant and very sure of his relationship with his sub Dean. The story starts out with them celebrating their 5 year anniversary. These are obviously two men very much in love. While Richard is away on business Dean finds out that his beloved sister passed away in a car accident and that she made him the guardian of her 3 month old daughter Emily. When Richard finds out he tells Dean that they shouldn’t raise her but he backs off when he sees that hurts Dean. Dean is determined to Emily since she is all he has left of his sister. While Dean goes into child raising willing to learn everything he needs, Richard just stews in his jealously. He spends a good part of the book mentally complaining that Dean choose the baby over him and that he doesn’t need his Dom any longer. Dean sees that Richard is struggling with accepting the baby and he tries to still be the perfect sub but unfortunately raising a baby is harder then he thought.
I had big issue with Richard for most of the story. He comes off as very selfish, only thinking about himself. He even throws a tantrum after Dean safewords during a scene. Needless to say he eventually comes around and proves to be a great protector to both Emily and Dean. I cant wait to start the next book.
Both audio and book get 4 stars

Contract killer Felix Zamaro isn’t looking for love—at his age, all he wants to do is retire. When he interrupts a robbery-in-progress, he stumbles into a mess: Nick Banner is in town to help his sister kick her loser boyfriend to the curb.

Nick never thought he’d meet a hot-as-hell assassin in the middle of a random coffee run, but watching Felix take down a couple of thieves in a crappy gas station has him questioning his rule against playing with straight guys.

When Felix’s next mark turns out to be none other than the boyfriend of Nick’s sister, all hell breaks loose. When Nick moves into the house next door to Felix, both men think fate is messing with them. However, it’s Nick’s unexpected career choice that really throws Felix off his game, and for a killer, that could be a fatal mistake.

Review

I admit that while I love Erin’s writing style and her characters, I love her paranormal story lines more than her contemporary. IMHO her paranormal plot lines and world building takes up more of the page time and while they all have loads of smexy times – the paranormal has less focus on it? I might be wrong but that’s what it feels like.

The other thing I find in a lot of Erin’s stories: evil women. While I can respect that in a world of men and women at least 50% of the time the bad guy will be a female, but I think a disproportionate number of her villains are women. Just sayin’.

I love a good “anti-hero” story and I think this fills the bill. Felix is not what you typically expect in a hero and he’s a kick in the pants. Matching him up with the naïve but yet almost equally “off color” Nick was genius and I love them as a couple.

The story line (non romance) was ok, interesting but not fascinating.

All in all I liked it and thought it was good.

The Fixer

Blurb

When Zero Graham wakes up in the hospital, he has only one thing on his mind: revenge on the mastermind who shot him and trashed his home. He’s the best fixer in the business, and that means he has a reputation to uphold.

Julian Amon doesn’t want to check up on his mother’s patient, but he can’t say no to her, and he finds the older man intriguingly hot. His decision to tag along when Zero checks himself out of the hospital borders on crazy, but the older man interests him, and Julian has always enjoyed a good mystery.

Zero doesn’t want or need a babysitter, but Julian’s physical competence and lack of fear push all of his buttons in exactly the right way. Violence is his kink, and the younger man doesn’t seem to mind the scent of blood, but will Julian be able to handle the pressure when Zero closes in on his enemy?

Review

I wanted more for Zero – he was such a neat character in book 1 and I thought this didn’t do him justice.

I don’t like the cutting and bleeding and there were times I wasn’t sure everyone was on the same page. Zero became more of a parody in this than he was in book 1.

This didn’t sit as well with me as book 1 but I still enjoyed Julian and Zero as a couple.

By the end of his stay, Lorcan can’t let Rowan go, though he thinks he must. What will convince him that’s he’s allowed a happy ever after and will he find the courage to accept it

Review
Have you ever started a book devouring every page then slowing down because it’s near the end and you don’t want it finish? Well that’s what I did with Serving Him. Oh boy I thought I loved Olly, Aiden, Alistair and all the other Subs and Dom’s from the Edge series but sweet sweet Rowen has claimed a piece of my heart.
Lorcan has come to the Retreat to claim back his life and start anew. Rowen has done the same. Both are now ready to bring BDSM more fully into their lives. Rowen is exploring being a submissive by working for The Retreat. An exclusive English Country House set up to cater for a wealthy Dominant’s every whim, whilst providing the utmost safety for the Submissive. Over his stay Lorcan and Rowen’s relationship turns towards love. But Rowen having already made one big change is unsure about the future. LM Somerton writes breathtaking scenes between Lorcan and Rowen. I could visualise everything and connect with the emotions between them. As I said earlier I didn’t want the story to end and had such a pout when it did. I want more. What happens next? There is definitely more to to tell about these two like Lorcan meeting Rowen’s family and the two of them visiting the Underground Club. Patience is a virtue so they say, so I’ll have to be virtuous for a while, yeah right as if!

When your deepest, darkest fantasy shows up, get onboard.

Sam Keller knows he’ll never find the excitement he craves in Middleton, Iowa – not while he’s busting his ass in nursing school and paying rent by slaving away in a pharmacy stockroom. Then Sam meets Mitch Tedsoe, an independent long-haul trucker who makes a delivery to a shop across the alley. Innocent flirting quickly leads to a fling, and when Mitch offers to take him on a road trip west, Sam jumps at the chance for adventure.

Mitch is sexy, funny, and friendly, but once they embark on their journey, something changes. One minute he’s the star of Sam’s every X-rated fantasy, the next he’s almost too much a perfect gentleman. And when they hit the Las Vegas city limit, Sam has a name to pin on Mitch’s malady: Randy. For better or for worse, Sam grapples with the meaning of friendship, letting go, growing up – even the meaning of love – because no matter how far he travels, eventually all roads lead home

Review
One hot book packed full of kinky sex. Quite steamy at times. There is the right mix of sex, angst, humour and heartwarming moments but more importantly this is their story. It’s not just about the sex I got invested in the characters. Sam is a young man who doesn’t know what he wants, he has the vaguest of notions but no real idea. He feels trapped and beholden to his Aunt and Uncle, who are not portrayed in a good way (think of Harry Potter’s Aunt and Uncle). In his own way Mitch is equally lost. He no longer believes in himself and or his desires. He has a turbulent past and doesn’t want to repeat any of it. He takes Sam away across country with him but sends out mixed messages. Sam is desperate to submit, to fill in what’s missing. The sex is hot but Mitch holds back and Sam is determined to know why. Their relationship is one of power exchange with some humiliation and exhibitions, during scenes. The story hots up even more when Randy comes back into Mitch’s life. He is not a likeable character in this book. A lot of his behaviour stems from jealousy. I always sigh with contentment when I finish this book, reading or listening. And to make it even better Sam and Mitch feature in the next book, Double Blind.
To my mind Iggy Toma absolutely captures the essence of Sam and Mitch. Sami’s complaining doesn’t come across as whiny or poor me, just fits with Sam’s character. Mitch has a lovely smoky gravelly voice that fits so well with him and being a trucker. I can’t forget smarmy Randy, wonderful voice Iggy gave him. Narration at it’s best.

Nash wants nothing more than to gain Joshua’s trust and help him find the happiness that’s eluded him so long.

It’ll push him to the edge, but Nash will be there to keep him from falling into the abyss of despair, and if Joshua can come out on the other side, he’ll be a step closer to wholeness, healing, and happiness

Review
I haven’t read book 2 in the series, Limitless, which is how the two main characters meet. I felt there was enough of their story in this book for me to understand everything. I probably will go back and read book 2 I like the relationship between Dom Nash and Sub Joshua and would like to see where it starts from now I know how happy they are. There are a few hot scenes, where Nash takes Joshua out of himself but Nash soon realises that scenes are not the right way to give Joshua what he needs. Joshua has had a past full of abuse and rejection and Nash doesn’t want to add to this. The Edge is about two people facing doubts and learning about themselves to strengthen their relationship. It’s one of the few books that the Dom isn’t portrayed as being all knowing. Nash has fears and doubts about how he can best help Joshua. He arranges for Joshua to get professional help, which I applaud. This is one of the better BDSM stories in terms of relationships I have read. Certainly more realistic. I hope two of the secondary characters, Malcolm and Denny get to tell their story in another book.

As the landlord of The Dragon’s Lair and leader of The Black Dragons Motorcycle Club, Axel Carmichael has seen it all and done it all. He’s a respected and experienced dom. Nothing shocks him any more, and nobody catches him off guard.

When Bayden rides up to The Dragon’s Lair on a bike worth more than most men earn in a year, and immediately demonstrates that he has far more attitude than sense, it’s easy for Axel to write him off as a silly little rich boy who’s about to get himself killed.

But, there’s more to Bayden than meets the eye. He’s no silly little boy, rich or otherwise, and werewolves aren’t easy to kill

Review
What can I say. Axel’s Pup is long but oh so worth it. A wonderful mix of erotic and romantic. Axel leads the Black Dragons Motorcycle Club from his pub The Dragons Lair. From the start we learn that humanity feared werewolves so much that they tried to suppress the species by putting them in camps and destroying packs. Werewolves have no rights and are maligned within society. This is a great twist on the usual shifter stories. Given examples throughout history I can certainly see humans treating another threatening species in this way. From the moment Bayden meets Axel he recognises him as an Alpha, albeit a human one. Axel as all the traits. Axel’s protective side is drawn to Bayden before he knows he is a werewolf. The story is long but it in my opinion it has to be. Especially if we are going to get the depth of trust building between a werewolf who has been brought up to mistrust humans and a Dom finding his way with a unique sub. There is a lot of self realisation, growth and understanding throughout the story which kept me listening. Two scenes that stood out for me was when Axel asked what a Werewolf Alpha would do and took on that role when Bayden had assumed he should be trying to be more human. The other was towards the end when Bayden and Axel showed the crowd what real wolf submission looked liked. It summed up the love and trust that had grown between them.

The narrator is spot on with these characters. Axel has a light Welsh accent gruff yet smooth, slightly older sounding whereas Bayden sound young but you get the feel of his hard life coming through. The secondary characters all have a sound that suited my impression of them. For example one of the dragons was always trying to get a rise out of Bayden he sounded nasally, which suited the impression I had of a scornful attitude.

Eight months ago Robin Secoya left his lover and master, Stack Lobond, because he didn’t believe Stack really cared about him. He was sure that for Stack, any warm body would do, and Robin wasn’t willing to be just a warm body anymore.

A chance meeting at the Iron Eagle Gym brings them back together, and old feelings aren’t far from the surface. They decide they can’t pass up a second chance at romance. But this time, it isn’t just Stack’s demanding career as a big-cat vet putting strain on their relationship. Robin also has a new job that takes up a lot of his time.

Will their kinky love affair crash and burn a second time, or can they find the balance that will allow the passion between them to flourish

Review
Robin feeling lonely and unable to get his Master, Stack, to listen to him left. He never stopped loving Stack and after a chance meeting (or maybe not such a chance considering his Master still went to this Gym!) they get together. There is a lot of kinky loving happening in the first 50 pages but rather than enjoy it I kept asking myself where is the communication in this, nothing has changed for Robin. They’ve given into lust and longing for each other. Rather good BDSM scenes as always. By the end I realised the reconciliation was all in the actions by Stack making an effort to change his way and by Robin sticking with his job. They come to an understanding and become able to see the other persons view. I was a little surprised by the end, it seemed abrupt, not quite a natural ending but fitting.
Sean Michael’s stories are never very deep, everything is kept light and very kinky. There could have been so much more angst and drama in this story but it’s not this writers style. Even knowing that I still wanted more substance from this story. I’m always drawn to his work but I think need to be more realistic in my expectations in future and enjoy the simplicity of it.

Review
It’s been a long time since I’ve stayed up until the early hours of the morning reading a book, but this one had me hooked. I must stress that if BDSM books are not your thing do not read this book. The Master/Sub relationship between Richard and Dean is made very clear from page one. Richard is a very strong character and is particularly self centred. He is a hardcore business man who stands for no nonsense. Not very likeable in the beginning but as the story progresses my opinion of him changes. Which I suppose shows skilful writing. I was taken on a journey with this family through a very turbulent time in their lives. Now this is the part where my feelings about the book are a bit muddled. I loved the building of tension as the very realistic issues hit this couple. I could relate to Richard’s resentment of baby Emily, in as much as the way an only child resents a new sibling. He is used to being Dean’s sole focus. Dean on the other hand seemed too willing to forgive. He doesn’t cope well with conflict but I can’t decide if he’s a pushover or not. He is a Sub that needs his Master’s protection and guidance. Which makes it even more reprehensible when Richard puts him in the position where he has to choose between his Master or his Niece.
I liked the way the story evolves. But here is my quandary. I mutter about stories that go around the houses to solve a situation that just takes straight talking and here I am when a story does just that thinking, well that was too easy!
The Master/Sub scenes are well written and quite evocative.
They clearly set the tone of their relationship and this comes across not only in the playroom scenes but also the 24/7 routines aspect of the relationship.
The story covers just over a year in Richard and Dean’s relationship and they do have a rollercoaster of a year but they do get a happy ever after. I will definitely be looking out for the next book in the series.

One kinky wood carver. One younger chef looking to try new things. A series of lessons that bring both men more than they bargained for…

Curtis Hunt has made a name for himself as a chainsaw wood carver, winning national competitions and operating a small business in Rainbow Cove, Oregon. As winter whittles away his tourist traffic, his goal is just to survive the season and try to not get lost in grief for his dead lover. It’s been two years, but he’s sure he’ll never be over the love of a lifetime. However, his body has a certain restlessness that he doesn’t quite know how to calm.

Logan Rosner knows a thing or two about restlessness. It’s what drove him to Rainbow Cove to be a chef at a bar and grill run by his friends. And it’s what drives him to a single sizzling encounter with the local legendary lumberjack. Both men get far more than they expected and learn that first impressions aren’t always accurate…

But when Logan proposes a series of sexy lessons, Curtis must decide how much he’s willing to risk. He knows he can’t afford to get attached to Logan’s good cooking, his easy smiles, or his caretaking, but he keeps going back for more, even as deeper emotions become involved. Soon, Curtis must decide whether to risk his heart again or risk losing Logan for good.

Review
What’s not to like about a baby Dom and a recalcitrant Sub. Loved the push and pull between Curtis and Logan from the start. Logan knows what he wants he just hasn’t been able to find anyone who will play with him. Curtis on the other hand had been in a long term relationship and is very reluctant to get involved again, despite needing the release kink gives him. I really got invested into Logan finding his style and Curtis learning that he doesn’t need to push everyone away. He is just beginning to think of Logan as more than a convenient play date when guilt over Troy holds him back. There is no time frame for grief but other people keep voicing their judgement on their new relationship. I liked how the initial connection between Logan and Curtis built into something more solid. Even in the first few D/S scenes I could believe in them as a couple. Curtis for all his cantankerous ways needs someone to be there for him although he would never admit that. I think it’s the same with Logan, he needs someone in his life but never realised it. To many people want to smother him. His over protective parents can’t see any other way but their way for their only child. His friends also seem to think he needs looking after. Even Curtis was judgmental towards him in the beginning. The D/S side of their relationship is portrayed very well. It is just in the bedroom and doesn’t impact upon the rest of their lives. If you can accept some pain kink I urge you to consider reading this book. There is much more to the story. It is wonderful tale of finding yourself and coming to terms with loss. They deserved their Happy Ever After ending.

I haven’t read the first book in the series, Trust with a Chaser, and I didn’t feel I was missing anything vital to this story. The characters from the first book are mentioned but don’t play a significant role in this storyline.
