Detective Matthew Bennett doesn’t believe in ghosts. So when the spirit of a murdered child leads him to her body, he’s shaken to the core – and taken off the case. Unable to explain his vision, or to let go of the investigation, Matthew turns to renowned medium Kiernan Fitzpatrick. Though he has doubts about Kiernan’s claims to communicate with the dead, Matt is nevertheless drawn to the handsome psychic, who awakens feelings he thought were long-buried.
Haunted by the lingering spirit of the little girl, Kiernan is compelled to aid in the search for her killer. The chance to get closer to the enigmatic Matt is an unexpected bonus. Although Kiernan’s been betrayed by people who turned out to be more interested in his fame than in himself, with Matt he’s willing to risk his heart. As the two men grow closer, Kiernan helps Matt rediscover that life offers no guarantees – but love offers a reason to believe….

A great paranormal murder mystery with excellent narration.
Matt is a homicide detective who has lost his partner (off and on the job). He gets a call about a case involving a murdered child; in the course of the investigation, he encounters the child’s ghost. This leads him to seek out a psychic – Kiernan. At first Matt is a sceptic, but as he gets to know Kiernan, he changes his mind and finds a reason to believe (sorry, I just had to ☺!). The 2 men learn to trust each other and develop an attraction to each other during the course of the investigation. The mystery and romance were well done with excellent narration!
Jack LeFleur’s range of voice characterisations is impressive – I had no trouble identifying all the different characters. What a fabulous voice! He has a way of building up the scenes, whether they were suspenseful or erotic that kept me listening well after my bedtime. I was thoroughly hooked from beginning to end.
I would highly recommend both the book and audio, but definitely the audio – it brought a really good book to life.

Great review! I have long loved this book and completely agree Jack LeFleur did a superb job with the narration! This easily falls on my reread/relisten rotation. I been trying to find new works narrated by Jack LeFleur and can’t find anything newer than 2015. What happened to him? A quick google search yields nothing. Anyone know?
