A Dreamcatchers Tale
Twin souls reunited.
Drew’s always been a fighter: first in martial arts competitions, and now as a dreamcatcher—keeping the people of Seattle safe from spaga attacks that would drain their life force in their sleep. All he has to do to become a full member of Team 32 is complete his first mission.
But the first person he must defend is his ex, Angelo… the only man Drew ever loved, even if he was the one to leave. Drew never got over Angelo, and it seems Angelo might feel the same, despite the heartbreak he suffered at Drew’s hands.
As the chase after a powerful and resourceful caster hits close to home, old feelings resurface. But if Angelo learns of the dreamcatchers, he’ll be a target for the spaga. And how can he trust Drew now that Drew’s keeping bigger secrets than ever?
I love paranormal/sci fi! This really intrigued me because of the unique world building. Dream catchers fight Spaga who steal life force by invading regular human dreams. Each Dream catcher has a unique set of gifts to fight these Spaga and must do their job in secrecy.
While I found most of the fantasy stuff to be interesting, not all of it made sense to me and I found the Spaga to be a bit too easy to catch.
I’m not a fan of reunion stories and this was simply too easy for me to find really entrancing. Drew (for some reason) totally abandoned Angelo years ago and despite the INTENSE connection between the two. When they are reunited Angelo accepts Drew back pretty much instantaneously and it wasn’t very rewarding.
The other-worldly aspects of the story were interesting enough to keep me reading the series but this was a little too easy, too sugary and not enough substance for me to love it.
